What is Embroidery Digitizing?
Embroidery digitizing is the process of converting artwork into a stitch file that can be read by an embroidery machine.
Most Embroidery Digitizing software has the option to "Auto Digitize". While this is a quick way to create a design, the results are not always the best and often an excessive number of jump stitches have to be removed when the design is finished.
The goal of a good digitizer is to create a design with a perfect stitch out with as few jump stitches as possible. The only way to do that is to manually digitize a design. As mum said, “if a job is worth doing then its worth doing well”, and Digitizing is not a "one step", click the button process.

The very basics of Embroidery Digitizing are :
-
an understanding of required design size, fabric type, artwork and any special requirements
-
Preparation of artwork for digitizing
-
Plan how the design will run on an embroidery machine from start to finish
-
Allocate embroidery stitch types to specific areas taking into account factors such as the fabric type and "push and pull" of the article
-
Test run the design to see if adjustments to the digitizing are needed
